The Boathouse Restaurant

The Boathouse Restaurant is located on The Lake in Central Park. This is one of my favorite spots in NYC; when the weather is right, this spot is absolutely idyllic and bucolic. Tables on the terrace are a wonderful place to have a meal. Although a little pricey, I would highly recommend it if you can get a table. Rowboats are available for rent nearby, as are rides on genuine Venetian gondolas. Centrally located in the park at 72nd Street, it's the perfect location for exploring Central Park, which is a world unto itself...

Having been to a lakeside restaurant in France, I can understand the great appeal of waterside dining. We had swans waiting for bread scraps. Are there swans on The Lake?

Central Park has a lake - with the beautiful Bow Bridge. Also, an enormous reservoir with jogging trail around it. There are ball fields, a Boat Pond, Shakespeare theater, Belvedere Castle, Delacorte Fountain, Strawberry Fields (honor to John Lennon), a Zoo, carousel, Sheep Meadow, Great Lawn, the Ramble - a forest and one of the biggest migratory bird stops in the East and more...
Overall a remarkable place - almost unfathomable to find such a place in the heart of Manhattan.

One of a kind restaurant. I've been thinking if that is possible. But after seeing your blog post. Now I know that it is going to be a great restaurant.
