New York City is a dynamic place and like most cities is defined by activity. I frequently shoot short video clips when taking photos for NYDP. In many situations it is difficult to really convey an activity with a still photograph, so today I would like to introduce video to the city daily photo blogs (I will do this from time to time as appropriate). I ran across two guys (Jason Dehenzel and his partner) in Washington Square Park drumming on cans and other objects, a not unusual urban activity, but these guys were GREAT. One said he wanted to audition for Stomp. So, let the music speak for itself...

truly of "stomp" quality, nice idea of posting video as well!
Nice shot. My computer here is prehistoric and crashes with video. I'll have a look at home
I wish I could Stomp, or even see the video. In the past year I moved from Paris to near Marseille, where I had broadband. Now after another move I am in a black hole!! I have all the advantages of living in the beautiful French countryside, except one, no Broadband, the one thing I had to give up and it drives me crazy because I am a mile and a half outside of where the present limit of broadband reaches. Arrrrrrrrrggg!!
Love the NYDP.

They are great.Thank you.Greetings from Helsinki.
Can't stream or download from work, but I'll have a look at it from home. Great idea.
How fun...and I love the monkey..
Thanks everyone. I hope everyone gets a chance to view the video clip - very often people like this become well known. Many prominent artists started or honed their work on the streets of NYC. BTW, don't you love those little chairs!

Excellent idea to include video to your blog. Enjoyed the clip.
Video is great. But have to admit that like Brian, my favorite part is the little pink plastic chairs.
This is one thing we don't ever see here in San Diego... I think i've only seen it in Chicago as i've never been to N.Y. which i want to soo bad
