Good story telling. Very different from your usual photo style but still a piece of the city. I like it.

Thanks - I thought things could use a change - some find my posts have too much text. I've been a research hound and reader since I was a child - so I love to go in depth on subjects. But many times a situation speaks for itself - that bottom photo says it all.

Great sequence, no text necessary. But I don't agree that you usually have too much text. Or if you do, it sets this blog apart. I, for one, like the research as much as the photos.

By the way, could you tell us what model is your camera? I'm shopping for a DSLR and like what you achieve with yours.

It's a cliche of course, that "equipment doesn't matter". To some extent it does - esp for the sensor quality, camera controls and interface. I decided on a Canon 30D - the CMOS sensor is reputed to be good for low light and I will be doing much nite photography. I also prefer the Canon interface, although all my photo friends use Nikon - they are fine cameras. I think a Canon Rebel would also do well, or a Nikon D200 or D70. And lenses are important - I use the 17-85mm IS zoom, but I plan on getting at least one standard prime.

I love the text (not that it was needed today). I'm a California girl with a big thing for NYC, thought I've only been there twice. I love learning about the city, helps me feel validated in loving a place I have spent relatively little time. I'm planning next summer's trip already though. And if you're somehow curious to know my photographic take on some parts of the city: http://www.flickr.com/photos/simplywithstyle/sets/72057594128287306/

You can still be fun and not want to get thrown in the water with your clothes on - I know I wouldn't want to.
This girl didn't get thrown in, which is why I was pleased with the finale.

A photographic cartoon (a photo novela?), what a nice idea! This was very nice - love the title too.
